Privacy policy
Last updated 15 October 2026. Applies to the VOD Blur extension for Firefox and Chrome, and to this website.
Short version: VOD Blur collects no data. It has no account, no analytics and no server. What it stores stays in your own browser.
What the extension stores
Only what you make with it, saved in your browser's own extension storage on your device:
- The shapes you save: their position, shape, blur or color, and the address of the page, site section or site they belong to.
- Your last-used settings, such as shape type, blur strength and color.
None of this is sent anywhere. You can see and delete it on the extension's overview page, and removing the extension deletes it all.
Page content and screenshots
To draw shapes, the extension runs on the pages you visit, but it doesn't read, collect or send their content. It only measures where the video sits on the page, so your shapes stay in place.
When you use the color picker, the extension takes a screenshot of the visible tab so you can pick a color from it. The screenshot only exists in memory while the picker is open and is thrown away as soon as you pick a color or press Esc. It is never saved or sent anywhere.
What we don't do
- No analytics, tracking or telemetry.
- No selling or sharing of data, because there is no data to share.
- No remote code: everything the extension runs ships inside the extension itself.
